Directions from the Airport to The Castle Steps

It is extremely important to call the moment you arrive in the country so that we can be sure that there is someone to greet you when you arrive: if we don't hear from you we may assume that you are not coming. There are plenty of call boxes which take coins at the airport. If you have a GSM phone please bring that and give us your number so we can contact you if necessary.

To call from a foreign mobile just add +420. 


After you have called please buy a 20Kc ticket from the booth just by the exit. This will take you all the way to The Castle Steps. Please don't forget to validate your ticket in one of the yellow machines as soon as you get in.

When you walk out of the main exit of the airport you will see a road in front of you. The airport bus stops here. Take bus number 119 to Dejvicka (the end-stop).

When the bus stops walk in the direction it was going in for about 20m and you will see the entrance to the metro. Take any train two stops to Malostranská. When you get up to the street you will see some trams stops in front of you. Take tram 22, 20 or 12 one stop to Malostranské Nám?stí (this is in the direction going to your right).

When you get out of the tram you will be next to a car-park. Walk up across the car-park and you will be in Nerudova. Go to number 10 and press the doorbell marked "The Castle Steps". The doorbells are on the right before the main entrance to the courtyard. If you forgot to call from the airport, there might not be anyone to greet you. In this case carry on up the hill another 100m and you will find call-boxes which take coins. Please call them and they will come within a few minutes. Please do not ring any of the other doorbells or wander into the courtyard until somebody comes. Thanks.
