Please call when you are just coming into Prague so that we can be sure that there is someone to greet you when you arrive. Our numbers are:
257531941 (land-line)
731087899 (mobile)
To call from a foreign mobile or from a callbox outside the Czech Republic please add +420.
Within the country you can also call us on our Czech toll-free number: 800-CASTLE.
Wherever you are coming from you should aim for Mala Strana.
If you are coming from the north (D8/E55 from Dresden) turn off to Mala Strana just before you get to the river. Follow the road south along the river for about two kilometres. You will eventually lose sight of the river because there are buildings in the way. The road leads to Malostranska: here you will see roads and trams going to the left and the right, and a small park on your left. You need to aim for the road which is slightly to your right, but going in the same direction. Follow this road for about 700 metres. You will go past the Belgian, Indian and Polish Embassies on your right, and will see some gardens and a view of the castle. When you get to the traffic lights turn immediately right and go up the hill. After about 100m you will be on Nerudova. You should see a small car-park on your right. Carry on up the hill until you get to number 10, which is on the right. Park on the left and ring the doorbell. If you forgot to call when you arrived in Prague there may not be anybody to greet you. In this case walk up the hill: you will find call-boxes about 100m up on the right.
If you are coming from the south/east, (D1/E50/E65 from Vienna and Budapest), you will turn off at the same point, just after you cross the river. The directions are the same as for D8/E55 from there on.
If you are coming on either the D1 or the D8 and you miss the turning to Mala Strana you should try to get back onto the motorway and return. It is very easy to get to us from the motorway, but very difficult to find your way through Prague if you get off the motorway at the wrong point. If you are coming from the south/east it is tempting to get off the motorway too soon but please don't do this, as you will get hopelessly lost.
If you are coming from the west (D5/E50 from Plzen, Munich or Regensburg) you should follow the roads to the centre (marked "centrum"). Turn off just before you get to the river and get onto the embankment road (Janackovo nabrezni). This runs north up the west side of the river. At the next bridge (Most Legii) you should turn right into Vitezna. When you get to a T-junction turn right (north) into Ujezd. Follow this until you get to Malostranske Namesti. Watch the tram tracks: if there are no tracks you are on the wrong road. When you get to Malostranske Namesti the road bends to the right and there is a car-park on your left. Turn right immediately after the car-park and you will be in Nerudova. Drive up Neruodva about 100m: number 7 is on the left. Park the car and press the doorbell marked "The Castle Steps". If you forgot to call there might not be anyone to greet you. In this case walk up the hill another 100m and you will find call-boxes which take coins. Please call them and someone will come within a few minutes.

You can download a high-resolution map showing how to get here from the main motorways. Right click on the link and choose "save as..."
You can unload directly outside the building, but you cannot park there for more than a few minutes. Please ring the doorbell as soon as you arrive and talk to one of the Guest Liaison Officers who will advise you.
(1) In Malostranske Namesti, at the bottom of the hill (about 150m from our building) there is a carpark. This costs 40Kc (approx 1.30 euro/$1.60) an hour. This is only suitable for short-term parking.
(2) In Prague 6. You cannot park for free on the street in Prague 1 but you can do so in the next district. Continue up Nerudova; this turns into Uvoz; carry on until you cross the number 22 tram line. You should now be in Pohorelec street, which is in Prague 6. There are plenty of safe places to park there. The walk back takes 10 to 15 minutes but is very picturesque.
(3) Underground car park. There is a guarded underground carpark very close to our our building: we will explain how to get there when you arrive. This costs about 600 Kc a night.
(4) In the underground carpark at Tesco. This is at Andel, about 2 km south of The Castle Steps. This is free and is guarded, but theoretically you are not supposed to park there unless you are buying things at the shop. We have had no problems with guests parking there for a couple of days.
